The SurvivaLite Mini SS is a small versatile, collapsible stove designed to be the perfect personal cooker. It is built like a little rocket stove. As heat rises air is sucked into the combustion chamber through the vent holes surrounding the bottom of the stove. The combustion chamber is designed to be big enough to hold a variety of combustible materials. This larger size allows you to cook bigger pots than traditional backpack stoves. In addition the 2 pan support bars are movable. when the bars are brought right next to one another it makes it possible to cook in small pans, cans, or even metal coffee cups.
Included with the SurvivaLite Mini SS Rocket Stove are two great accessories. The first is a 20" Spyral Pocket Saw. This saw blade can cut in any direction. Use it by either holding both rings and pulling back and forth, or by bending a branch and attaching the pocket saw to each end, making the branch look like a bow and arrow, and use the saw like you would a hack saw. The other accessory is a 1,000 strike fire-starter. A normal flint spark is over 1,200 degrees fahrenheit. When the flint is used to ignite the Magnesium shavings the result is an intense heat of about 5,400 degrees fahrenheit. More than enough heat to light most dry materials such as: dry grass, moss, cloth, paper, grease, fine steal wool, and wood shavings.
The stove is built out of stainless steal plates that fit together to form a 6x6 inch combustion chamber. The plates are designed to disassemble and placed inside one another. The pot holder bars are designed to hold the plates together while the stove is disassembled helping to make sure that all stove pieces are there when you need them. The SurvivaLite Rocket Stove HD is an easy to use wood burning cook stove that’s quick to light, and easy to clean up. The specially designed combustion chamber works just like a chimney, drawing air in from the side and up through the burning wood or charcoal. This design allows the wood, or any other combustible material, to burn very hot and very efficiently. It focuses all the fires heat right to the bottom of your pan, or griddle. In a matter of minutes you can have a fire ready to cook on that can be maintained for several hours with a pile of small branches.
The Rocket Stove HD is a heavy duty stove built out of heavy duty steal, and Painted with high temperature Black. The double walled construction surrounds a non combustable, non consumable, insulated core. Directing the heat right where you need it instead of lossing it out the side of the stove. Then, once your done, cleanup is just as simple as grabbing the solid steal handle, located in the back of the stove, and dumping any remaining ashes, and your ready for your next use.
The shipping dimensions of this stove are 8"x14"x13". What this means is it stands about 13" tall, the main body of the stove is about 8" square. On the front and back of the stove the heavy duty handle and the feeding chamber each stick out about another 3" each, making the front to back total mesurement about 14". The stove weighs about 17 lbs. While this doesn't make it a lite weight portable cooking stove, you can be assured that it is built to last a long, long time. This insert, when placed in the combustion chamber, seals up the feeding chamber, allowing you to use charcoal without worring about losing any briquettes through the chamber. Just fill up the combustion chamber with briquettes, add a little lighter fluid, and light. Allowing you to either cook over the charcoal, or just get the charcoal started so you can use it to cook something else. For example, use the stove to prepare your charcoal to cook your dutch oven cobbler. Then re-light the Rocket Stove HD with wood and cook your dinner. Cleanup is just as simple as grabbing the back handle and dumping out the ash.
